Offering an exclusive range of high quality clothes with price tags to reflect, American company The Carlisle Collection operates in the US, UK and Germany. There are plans to expand the business to other European countries.

Priding itself on quality of fabric, design and manufacture, resulting in a speciality boutique look, sales consultants operate on a one to one basis. Four times a year the entire collection of well over 150 items is delivered to the consultant, who has a week to market it.

An American living in the UK, Linda Pfeifle has worked as a consultant for the Carlisle Collection since the company began operating in the UK a year ago.

'I lead a team of consultants in Birmingham,' she explains. 'It is a rewarding business to be involved with. This really is a fabulous product, with clothes manufactured in beautiful fabrics such as silk, cashmere, leather and quality man-made materials in sizes 2 to 20.'

Whilst this is not a multi-level marketing opportunity, The Carlisle Collection is an incentivised, commission-based business.

'To get started, you buy the materials to display the clothes in your home. But then there is no outlay to make on the clothes themselves,' says Linda.

'When you work with Carlisle, you hold no stock, the clothes are gorgeous, and the only snag would seem to be the likelihood that all your income will go on your own wardrobe.'
